Wela Banda
Onde ver a lista

Wela Banda
Wela Banda is only for players from Angola. The 20 best players in Angola's rating ranking qualify.
How to qualify
- Create your profile in Angola (choose the country and province).
- Play online matches: your rating goes up when you win and down when you lose.
- Finish in the Top 20 of the Wela Banda list.
What is the rating
The rating measures your strength, chess-style (Elo system). You start at 1000. Beating a stronger player gives much more rating than beating a weaker one; losing to a weaker player costs more. Each match moves the rating by up to about 32 points. Abandoning a match counts as a loss.
Note: the rating is different from the points in Wela Net. Points only go up; the rating goes up and down.
Where to see the list
In the Arena, in the right-hand (rating) panel, players from Angola see the Wela Banda list and can switch with the < > arrows to the international rating. The first 20 have the orange bar. Your profile shows your position and whether you are Qualified.
Who can take part
- Only players from Angola (the country chosen in your profile) and only real players: computer-controlled players are not eligible.
- Each person may have one account. Duplicate or shared accounts are disqualified.
- A player who plays as a guest (without Facebook) has the account only on their phone: if it is lost, they lose the rating and the place.
- Entry is free: no payment or purchase is needed.
How it works
- The rating does not restart at the end of the year: it stays with you. The Wela Net points, on the other hand, restart from zero every 1 January.
- The Wela Banda list is updated every few minutes and shows Angola's Top 20 at any moment.
- The closing date of the list, the format of the competition and the prizes are announced by the Wela team, in advance, on our social media and on the rules page.

Wela Banda
